N° 08 — FAQFrequently Asked Questions

First
Questions.

The twelve questions we hear in every first conversation — answered in advance. What we do, how we work, what it costs, and what you can realistically expect.

01 · Our Work

What we
actually do.

01

What does Kémali Group actually do?

We bring Turkish brands to the USA and Europe — completely, from start to finish.

That covers five core disciplines: brand strategy and identity, communications and PR, sales and retail, marketing and growth, and the complete market entry. Most brands engage us for the entire journey. Some come to us for just one or two specific phases.

Either way: one partner, one plan, everything from a single source.

02

What sets Kémali apart from a creative agency or a McKinsey?

A creative agency builds what it's told to. A strategy consultancy hands over a deck and leaves the execution to you. We do both — plus everything operational in between.

The work is one continuous arc: strategy → branding → communications → sales → launch. No handoffs between five different firms, no information lost in translation.

This continuity is the difference — and it's why market entries actually succeed.

03

Which sectors do you specialize in?

Four:

  • Food & Beverage — olive oil, coffee, wine, gourmet
  • Fashion & Beauty — fashion, skincare, accessories
  • Home & Interior — textiles, ceramics, home accessories
  • Travel & Hospitality — hotels, F&B concepts, destination brands

We don't take on every category. The expertise to bring brands across borders is sector-specific — the retail logic for olive oil isn't the retail logic for skincare. We've built real depth in these four sectors — and that's exactly where we work, not around them.

02 · Working Together

How we
work together.

04

Can we hire you for just a single service — say, only branding?

Yes — with one caveat.

We're happy to take on a single phase if the strategic groundwork has already been done elsewhere. What we won't do: execute branding or marketing without a clear positioning decision behind it. This order protects your investment — positioning first, execution after.

If you're not sure where you stand in that order — that's exactly what the first conversation clarifies.

05

How long does a typical market entry take?

Six to eighteen months — depending on the depth of the launch and how prepared the brand is at the start.

  • Focused market entry into one country, building on existing brand foundations: 6 – 9 months
  • Full repositioning plus a simultaneous USA and Europe launch: 12 – 18 months

We map out the timeline during the Discover phase — before any spending begins.

The honest version: fast market entries that skip steps usually have to be redone. Deliberate, slower ones don't.

06

Do we own everything you develop?

Yes. Completely.

Brand identity, naming, design assets, strategy documents, contacts, sales agreements — everything transfers to your ownership as each phase concludes. We retain no rights, no stake, no future revenue claims on your brand.

Our job is to build something that outlasts our collaboration. That only works if it truly belongs to you.

03 · Investment & Results

What it costs.
What you can expect.

07

What does it cost?

Engagements are priced by scope and phase — not by the hour.

A typical full market-entry program (all five disciplines, one target market) starts in the mid six figures. Single-phase engagements (e.g. brand strategy only, or sales setup only) start lower. We don't publish fixed price lists — no market entry is like another. But we quote clearly and in writing before any work begins.

What we won't do: sell the work below its value just to win it. A market entry at half the price usually delivers only half the value.

08

What results can we realistically expect?

In the first year, our clients achieve on average +47% revenue growth from international markets. The most successful engagements have delivered +300%; the slower starters +10 – 20%.

The honest answer: results depend as much on the brand and product as on the strategy. We're clear about what we control (positioning, sales, communications, launch quality) and what we don't (consumer taste, macro conditions, your willingness to invest behind the strategy).

We share full figures from comparable past engagements in the first conversation.

09

What does a successful engagement look like to you?

For us, a successful market entry isn't „we've launched.“ It's:

  • A sales structure that holds up without us
  • A brand identity that stays intact across markets
  • Communications relationships built with the right media and the right partners
  • Jointly defined revenue targets for the first year — met
  • Your internal team — ready to run the new market on its own

We aim to make ourselves redundant within a defined timeframe. That's the point.

04 · The Practical Stuff

The
Practical Stuff.

10

Where is your team based — and how does collaboration work across time zones?

We're based in Istanbul. We have close partnerships and on-the-ground contacts in Berlin, London, Milan, New York and Los Angeles — distributors, PR partners, showroom networks, retail buyers, attorneys.

For every engagement, we assemble the right parts of this network around the brand. You work primarily with a small senior team out of Istanbul; local specialists join in phases as needed.

The Istanbul time zone conveniently overlaps with both European and US East Coast working hours — a quiet advantage of our geography.

11

How many brands do you work with at once?

Deliberately a small number. Typically four to six active engagements at the senior-team level at any time. We open one to two new client slots per quarter.

This isn't artificial scarcity. Market entry, done properly, requires real attention — there's no shortcut for that. We'd rather do fewer launches at full depth than more at half.

12

What does the first conversation look like?

A 45-minute call. No deck.

We want to understand: where the brand stands today, what „international“ concretely means for you, what's already been tried, and where you want to be in three years. We share where we see the real opportunities — and where, honestly, we're not the right partner.

If it makes sense to move forward after the call, the next step is a paid Discovery phase — typically four to six weeks — that delivers a complete market-entry plan you can execute with us or with someone else.

No pressure, no commitment, no PDF blizzard. A real conversation.
